Foreign Languages are an important part of a Saint Patrick School education. We offer French and Spanish instruction for children in Kindergarten through grade 8. In grades Kindergarten through 5, all students take a half year of French and a half year of Spanish, one session per week. In grades 6 through 8, the students may opt for either French or Spanish, and they will continue with that language throughout all three years of middle school.
An exposure to world languages gives our students an appreciation for other languages and cultures. Saint Patrick School children begin the study of languages at an early age, which research shows is the best time to learn a foreign language. It also gives them a start on their high school foreign language curriculum; many Saint Patrick students are able to begin with French 2 or Spanish 2 in their freshman year of high school.
