Saint Patrick School features weekly music classes for all students K-8.  Music classes include basic theory instruction using rhythm and notation, grade-level lessons on various musical topics, hands-on playing with a variety of classroom rhythm instruments, musical games, and singing many genres of songs.  The 3rd and 4th grade classes learn to play recorders and our 7th and 8th grade students learn to play some basic guitar chords.

The music room is equipped with a smart board as well as a piano, keyboard, bass xylophone, various drums, and other rhythm instruments.  We also have 6 guitars which are used for group instruciton with our 7th and 8th grade classes.

Our school offers a band option for students in grades 4-8.  Student lessons and band are held during the school day and the band performs at our Christmas and Spring Fine Arts Night.  Choir is offered to students in grades 4-8.  The choir sings at the school masses and meets one day a week after school.  Choir members may also choose to learn to cantor at mass.

Triple Trio is a small singing group open to 7th and 8th grade students.  They focus on learning to sing 2 part and 3 part harmony.  Triple Trio meets Wednesdays for a short time at the end of the lunch period.

Students in grades 6-8 may choose to participate in our drama club which performs a spring play, usually a musical.  Rehearsals are usually 2 or 3 evenings a week during the few months leading up to our performance.

Our school hosts five feature programs throughout the school year, too.  All students K-8 particpate in our Veteran's Day and Christmas programs.  Spring includes our spring play (grades 6-8), Fine Arts Night (grades 3-5), which includes singing, the band, and grades K-8 artwork, and our annual Talent Show, which includes grades K-8.

The music program at Saint Patrick School is very diverse and provides many opportunities for our students to get involved.  Come join us!
